Welcome to Just Normal Humans! — the #1 rated show on Mons-TVR
Six monsters. One cul-de-sac. Zero chill. In this ridiculous tabletop RPG, you and your fellow abominations have been cast in the ultimate reality TV experiment: survive a week in a painfully average suburban neighborhood without blowing your cover.

Your mission?

  • Pretend to be a totally normal human.

  • Keep your Suspicion low and your Popularity high.

  • Resist the urge to eat the neighbors, curse the mailman, or speak in Ancient Screech-Latin.

How it works:

  • Choose your monster type and “human” archetype (Soccer Mom Werewolf? Tax Accountant Gremlin? Go wild.)

  • Assign stats that measure how convincing, restrained, and neighborly you are.

  • Play through four chaotic scenes: intros, daily challenges, private drama, and a crisis or twist.

  • Avoid Neighborhood Crises… or cause a Viral Moment™ for fame and chaos.

Cameras are always rolling. The audience is always hungry. And Timmy next door smells delicious.

Can you make it through the week without losing control… or will you become the most infamous star in the Mons-TVR Cinematic Universe™?

Do you have any recorded play with the game? I love to watch or hear playtests as examples. Or even any WIP material or scenarios ideas 💡 I liked the game

We don’t have any recorded play of the game so far. In fact, we haven’t played this current edition that much yet—it’s more of an adaptation of a few one-shots we’ve run with other systems, where we brought some of those ideas into this manual. We’d love to develop it further in the future, so if you get to try it out, feel free to contact me and share your experience!

For sure! And yes, totally understand, I had been DMing Liminal Horror and others all with the ItO system. Will give it a try and give you some feedback for sure. Thanks again!

Hey grate material! Just a quick question about the rules, because I will try this one. Do the stat changes from Step 1 fully determine all three stats, or are they added to the Step 3 assignments? Meaning, In Step 1, choosing a monster gives +1 to one stat and –1 to another, which leaves the third stat at 0. In Step 3, it says “assign +1, 0, and –1” but notes that the monster already modified two of them. Does this mean Step 1 already fully sets all three stats (so Step 3 is just confirming), or do the Step 3 assignments add to the Step 1 modifiers? Thanks! Keep on the grate work

Thanks! You start with all stats at 0. In Step 1, choosing your monster gives a +1 to one stat and a –1 to another (leaving the third at 0). Then, in Step 3, you assign your own +1, 0, and –1 freely on top of those values. This means you could end up with things like all stats at 0, or a +2 with two –1s, or a +2, 0, and –2, or a –2 with two +1s. That said, now that you mention it, I can see how this could be confusing. For a second revision, we’ll probably change the order or explain it more clearly.

Amazingly clarified 😎💯thanks again! Will give all these a try for sure
